Killkenny Cove Cottage (Acadia)

Kilkenny Cottage is located off Route 1 in Hancock. Close to Hancock Point and half way between the magnifient Schoodic Point (Schoodic section of Acadia National Park) and the main entrance of Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor.

While visiting the Schoodic peninsula, get up close to the crashing surf of the rocky coast, like no other place in Maine.

A coastal Maine vacation includes so much, with breathtaking vistas in many locations where you can enjoy hiking, kayaking, sailing Frenchman Bay, biking, bird watching, Nature cruises, Carriage Road, golf and many more activities.

Downeast Maine is a vibrant place for the arts, including many galleries, museums, studios and shops. There are exhibits, concerts and performances throughout the summer and fall months in most every village and town.

The wonderful Monteux School and Music Festival every summer is a must visit. Six weekly Festival Orchestra concerts are held in Hancock to provide an opportunity for conductors and instrumentalists to preform. In addition, five weekly chamber-style concerts, known as ‘Mainely Chamber Music’ are organized by members of the Monteux Festival Orchestra.

Enjoy the Schoodic Scenic Byway: 29 miles in length and travels through the nearby communities and on to the the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park. You will witness unspoiled landscapes that makes this part of Acadia truly ‘The way life should be’! You will see lobster boats, lighthouses and many islands.

Bar Harbor is home to the main part of Acadia National Park with several entrances on Mount Desert Island (MDI). Enjoy the 49,000 acres thanks to the dedication and philanthropy of many wealthy, private citizens (Charles Elliot, George Dorr and John D. Rockefeller Jr.)

This is the only National Park in the Northeast, and Cadillac Mountain boasts the first place to see sunrise in the U.S.

Enjoy the 27 mile Park Loop Road either by car or several tours (Which are excellent).

View the oceanside cliffs, forests, Thunderhole, Sand Beach and much more. Enjoy 130 miles of hiking trails for every level of endurance.

Discover the many local villages and towns on MDI and surrounding areas which include Ellsworth, The Blue Hill Peninsula, Castine, Deer Isle/Stonington and so much more.

We invite you to visit our area and stay at Kilkenny Cove Cottage where you will enjoy a 4 bedroom, 2 bath, comfortable, spacious log cabin on the waters of Kilkenny Cove.

Enjoy the front deck overlooking gardens and nature or lounge or dine on the back deck where you can enjoy a screened porch or open area and look down the rolling lawns towards Kilkenny Cove with views of the mountains of Acadia National Park. Watch birds and nature right before your eyes.

A large living/dining room or quiet den allow even a big family places to have plenty of room to enjoy.

This is a great location to kayak or canoe as the waters are calm and gentle. Swim, fish and play in your private cove. Watch the dramatic tides come and go.

Kilkenny Cove Cottage is a great place to bring your family as there are several private acres of lawn to fly kites, play ball, run and enjoy. Launch your kayak right from the waters edge and enjoy the coast and all its beauty. (We can help arrange kayak rentals for you)

Enjoy your meals from the sunny porch (screened ‘or’ open) and watch your cares go by. Relax, unwind and welcome to Maine!
